Super League Basketball have announced the roster for the Molten All-British Team of the Year (Women), following a voting process involving the League’s Head Coaches and Captains.
Headlining the roster with 17 of a possible 18 selections each are Manchester Basketball’s Irene Oboavwoduo and B. Braun Sheffield Hatters guard Georgia Gayle. The former has enjoyed a stunning debut campaign for Oli Parr’s side, with the teenager earning her first Great Britain Senior call-up.
Gayle has been one of the top performers on a B. Braun Sheffield Hatters side that has won every honour available to it so far this season, and is looking to complete a historic quadruple if they can reach and emerge victorious from the O2, London, later this month.
Next up on the roster is Shanice Beckford-Norton, who tallied 16 selections. A vital contributor for the Oaklands Wolves on both ends of the floor, the British guard’s intensity and energy on both ends of the floor has been crucial for Lee Ryan’s side once again this season.
Katie Januszewska secured fourth spot on the roster with 12 selections. The young forward notched over 15 points and four rebounds per game during the campaign for Nick Moodey’s Leicester Riders, scoring in double-figures in every Championship contest and over 20 points in five of those outings.
Completing the five is another B. Braun Sheffield Hatter and GB international, Shauna Harrison, with 11 selections. One of the leading scorers and an all-round contributor on the most successful side in the League this season, Harrison has enjoyed another stellar campaign for Vanessa Ellis’ side and caps it off with a British Team of the Year nod.
