ABOUT WOMEN'S SUPER LEAGUE BASKETBALL - '25-'26

The Women’s Super League Basketball (SLB) was launched in 2024 as the new top-tier women’s professional basketball competition, effectively replacing the former Women’s British Basketball League.

This season’s ten teams: Caledonia Gladiators, Leicester Riders, Cardiff Met Archers, London Lions, Manchester Basketball, Newcastle Eagles, Sheffield Hatters, Oakland Wolves, Nottingham Wildcats, Essex Rebels.

Each team plays every other side twice, once at home and once away, in a traditional round-robin format.

At the conclusion of the regular season, the team with the highest points total is crowned the SLB Championship winner. If teams are tied on points, the league applies head-to-head records as the first tiebreaker, followed by points difference in those games, and finally overall points difference if required.

After those competitions, the top eight teams from the Championship qualify for post-season play-offs, with quarter- and semi-finals based on aggregate scores and a final held at London’s O2 arena. The division brings together the top women’s professional clubs in Great Britain under a unified framework. Click below to find out more on each club.
