Caledonia Gladiators' Kyle Jimenez has been named the Molten Community Champion for 2025/26, becoming the first award winner of the post-season as the end-of-season honours get underway.
Jimenez has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to the club's community pathway, consistently going above and beyond his role by working across all age groups with energy, care, and professionalism. His impact has been particularly felt with the Scottish Championship Under-14 boys' team, where he has taken the initiative to support players and coaches as both a mentor and leader, helping to raise standards across the programme while developing young athletes on and off the court.
Giving his time entirely voluntarily, Kyle regularly attends fixtures midweek and at weekends, often following demanding Super League Basketball double-header schedules — a testament to his deep commitment to the team and wider community.
Reflecting on the honour, Jimenez said: "It's a great honour to win the Molten Community Champion award, and extra special for me personally, being Scottish and being able to help the Scottish basketball community and inspire the youth. I know how important it is for the youth to have role models that they can relate to."
He also thanked Caledonia Gladiators for their support while he carries out community sessions and attends youth games, describing it as "a privilege" to work with the club's youth teams and coaches.
Head of Professional Teams and Community Lisa Palombo added that Jimenez, having come through the Scottish player pathway himself, understands first-hand the value of investing in younger players and continues to create opportunities and inspiration for those following in his footsteps.
